M.A. Mortenson reached out to Sharp Architects Inc. to provide design work for a 40,000 sq. ft. building. This pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) would act as the central construction hub for the next 7-10 years. Three quarters of the building will be used by Mortenson and their sub-contractors. The remaining quarter of the building will be used by Facebook staff while they oversee the construction of multiple Data Center Buildings and related infrastructure.
The design features wide open work-station spaces for use by contractors. Small “Huddle Rooms,” Collaboration Corners, and Phone Rooms allow for coordination between team members.
Larger conference rooms are outfitted with projectors and TV’s for video conferences and intensive BIM coordination meetings. Smaller conference rooms are also scattered throughout the building.
