The DeKalb Park District has initiated the removal and replacement of one of their maintenance buildings at their 1205 E. Locust location in DeKalb, IL. Formerly the Hallgren Lumber Building, this structure has been deemed unsafe for occupancy by a structural engineer. Proposed plans for a 12,000 s.f. pre-engineered steel structures include Vehicle Bays, Wash Bay, Lift Bay, Work Shop, Break Room for up to 35 occupants, Restrooms complete with shower facilities, Offices, and Administrative support spaces. Future site plans include the demolition and replacement of a second maintenance building to the west. This proposed building has been designed to seamlessly integrate with a future addition to the west for expanded services, storage, and maintenance space. It will provide the DeKalb Park District with a safe, efficient environment for both maintenance and administrative staff to serve our community.
